Woooooo Pig Suie!

Well, today is the first Razorback game and, of course, we are not going. We do not go to many of the games, but we do not love the Hogs any less! And, we still love to get dressed up. This morning is no exception. I started getting their Hog gear out and realized I had made 2 shirts for Laci and none for Megan. The only thing I had made her was a bow. So, I pulled out this tutu I made last year as a trial and put it on her. I found one of Laci's old white undershirts and called it an outfit. The tutu was in a drawer and I did my best to straighten it out. The ones I made after it were much better!! I thought they both still looked cute and like true Hog fans!!!

Laci is posing 100% of the time. Even when I am taking Megan's picture, Laci is off the the side posing. Megan, on the other hand, could care less. It is like pulling teeth to get her picture where she is looking at the camera. She will smile while doing whatever she is doing. Like in this picture she is playing with a game and smiling when I tell her to smile, but she will not look at me!

Look kids....a deer!!!

Living in central Arkansas, there is a fine line between "not redneck" and redneck! The Bohannan family has officially crossed the line! This morning standing between our house and the 12th Fairway was a deer! Not just any deer! But, a styrofoam deer target to practice shooting a bow! We couldn't figure out why Megan was tearing our blinds down trying to look outside! I raised the blinds and she yelled, "DEER." It didn't take her long to realize it was the practice deer. You will see in the video that she knew daddy put it out there and that he broke it when he shot it!!!

Megan looks a little dissheveled because she had just woken up! She is her new big bed and she is loving rooting around in it. She gets a good "wasp nest" going on in the back most every morning!

Fun at the Farm

One of our favorite things to do is go to the farm. Papaw and Mamaw Grant have a place out towards Hot Springs and we love to go play out there. It is the perfect relax spot. The girls love it. They have 4-wheelers, a tractor, 2 cats, 2 goats, lots of guineas, chickens, a turkey, 2 dogs, the river, paddle boat, canoes, rabbits and land for days!!!!!! And, most importantly, it is one of the prime family hunting spots (our version of a "Hunting Club") No lie, as we were driving up, there were 2 deer eating in their driveway!
That is where we spent our Sunday afternoon. Luke and Laura Woodard went out there with us! Luke, Brad and Papaw were setting up hunting spots, while Mamaw, Laura, the girls and myself played!! We had so much fun. Thankfully, Laura had a fully charged camera and took some good pictures!!

The girls on one of the swings. This is under a giant oak tree! This is just after Laci peed in the creek! That's my girl!!!!!
Jax! This used to be Sarah's dog and now he is very happy being Mamaw's dog!
Megan was so tired by the end of the day! She loved the animals. She even went inside the fence with the chickens.

This is an awesome picture! This is the barn that was already on the property. Papaw and Mamaw have fixed it up and it is amazing out there!
Thanks Papaw and Mamaw! We had fun! Hope we can do it again soon! Love you

Like her big sister!!!

After watching Megan try to put on Laci's pettiskirt, I knew I had to get her one. So, with a major boost from Nonny (thanks, Non) we got Megan a pettiskirt. And, yes they wear them to church!!!!!!!!!!!

Her hair can fit into a ponytail right now! But, I think we are getting it cut this week!!!
Laci has been carrying around this look alike of our old dog. She has started saying she misses Abbytails! So, we are hoping this feels the void!

She could barely fit into her carseat!!!
Last Sunday was promotion Sunday. Megan was a hesitant and cried a little! This Sunday, however, she walked right in and started doing circles in her skirt! (in other words showing off) She left the skirt on the whole time but the bow came out rather quickly, which is fine. I wouldn't like those feathers in my eyes either!!!!!

My little Megan

The other day Laci spent some quality time with Papaw Bo, so I got to have some one on one time with Megan. We had a blast and I followed her around and laughed my head off!!!

She was trying on my rainboots!!! She realized very quickly that those were not going to work!

Trying a little too hard for that smile!!!

While Brad was out of town, Laci and Megan found an new playroom in my shower! Here are a couple of videos of Megan playing in my bathroom!

One final Megan story.

She does great on our stairs! She has no problems and goes up and down several times a day. However, the other night after the lights were out (it was 11:00 pm, actually), she made her way to the stairs. I was folding cloths in my bedroom and Laci was asleep (Brad was out of town). I saw her walk out of my bedroom and didn't think much about it until I heard the bumps of something coming down the stairs! As I took off running towards the stairs, I was hoping not to hear her cry and that maybe it was a toy! But, when I reached the bottom of my stairs my worst fear was confirmed. She was laying there and the only reason she wasn't crying was because she couldn't catch her breath long enough to let it out! When I picked her up, however, she let it out!! I held her tight for a second then pulled her back to see what all was hurt. I can't put it into words how perfectly the light from the moon coming in the window was shining off of the GIANT goose egg on her forehead!!!!!!! I flipped on the lights and did a more in-depth inspection. She had 2 of those goose eggs on her head and her wrist was hurting because she wouldn't take it out of her mouth! I quickly got a icepack and tried to put it on her head. I got her blanket and binky (comfort items) and did some checks to see if her wrist was broken. It was not! She could hold her sippy cup, wave and grasp my finger. Now, to the head. Both knots were sticking WAY out, so I knew she did not have concussions! I remember that fact from all the bumps my brother got on his head. I put her in the bed with me and she closed her eyes. Once again I panicked! I kept thinking I was supposed to keep her awake, but after all that crying she was really tired. I caved in and called and woke up my mom. She said her and Wes would be over in a second!!! (Thank you, God, we are not in Alabama) As we were waiting for them, Megan got her 2nd wind. She started acting like a clown! When Mom and Wes got there she was standing in the doorway yelling at them! Mom did some further checks on the rest of her body and we determined she was fine! Well, that and the fact that it was now midnight (way past bedtime), she had fallen down the stairs, and was now in the garage trying to ride her bike while wearing her rainboots.

My little Megan Lynn, she keeps me on my toes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day at the Zoo

Today we went to the zoo with Olivia (Liva). She is getting ready to go back to college and we spent the day with her! We had so much fun. It wasn't too hot and almost all of the animals were out and playful! The favorite was the big gorilla. It was so close and took off running and banging his chest. We all flipped out. It was awesome! Here are a few pictures!! We love you, Liva! Thanks and good luck at school!!!!!

Just behind Laci is the big gorilla!!!

This is the big gorilla! It stared at us and made noises!! It is the one that banged his chest when he took off running! We couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking!

Good Try!

Ben has a really good camera so we (the girls) decide we would wear our white and denim and take some pics. The guys were much less enthused. Therefore, we got to the beach a little later than expected and didn't have the guys full cooperation. Needless to say, we got some good pictures. Some of them are a little foggy but, but Ben has a computer program to clean them up!! Thanks, Uncle Ben!

The next 3 are of Uncle Wes and the girls! He leaves for his new college Saturday and we will miss him dearly. Laci and Megan have grown to love Wes this summer! I guess we'll be heading to Shreveport a lot this year!!! He will be pitching at Bossier Parish Community College!!!
Good luck at BPCC!!!!!! Go Cavaliers!!!!!!! We love you, Uncle Wes!!!!!!!!

Just a few more Beach Pics

I got some pictures that Ben took with his camera on vacation and just had to post them!!!

Laci was digging a hole in the sand and fell. This is the way she landed. We joked that she was practicing for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Addition! This was a little too much for her daddy to handle!

We buried Megan in the sand! She thought it was funny to find her toes when they wiggled!

Take time in the day!

I don't have any new pictures to post because my camera is cooling off after vacation. But, something happened this morning that I had to share. I have been very busy since we got back from vacation working on a couple of dances that I am teaching this week to the Junior High Dance Team. Needless to say, the housework has gotten behind. So, this morning I have been working like crazy to do some catch up. With that said, I fixed the girls some lunch and as I was hollaring at Laci to come eat, she kept saying just a second and I grew more frustrated. I went to find her and couldn't believe what I saw. I quietly watched as she was taking the cloths out of the washer and putting them in the dryer. She has helped me with this a few times but I never thought she was paying attention. She climbed up and got 2 dryer sheets (I like the extra smell good) and put them in. She turned the knob and counted up to make sure the right light was on and started the machine! She still didn't know I was watching and in her "miss attitude" voice she said, "mom, I'm drying the cloths!!!!" I had a lump in my throat and I was swollen with pride. Now, as I think about it, it's amazing how God can take a 4 year old and remind me to stop, slow down and remember the important things! I gave Laci a huge hug and let her know how proud I was of her! I hope I never forget to do that. Uncle Wes took her to the pool so I had some extra time with Megan. So, as I put her down for a nap, I rocked her a little longer than usual! I never want them to think I am too busy to love em!!!!!!

Redneck Dolphin Cruise???

While we were sitting on the beach we noticed a lot of dolphins in the ocean. Brad and Ben acted quickly and rented a kayak. They jumped in and got to paddling hoping to get as close as possible to the school of dolphins. I'd say it worked. The dolphins got so close the guys could've touched them. In fact, the dolphins had to change their path to go around them. Some went in front of them and some went behind. It was amazing and I quickly got my camera to catch it because that story would be a tough one to tell and people to believe or understand how close they really were!!!!

It was awesome! Everyone on the beach was watching Brad and Ben, and within minutes, the guy had every kayak rented out!!!!

When Competition Drives Us

What do you get when you put two competitive people together...the Brad and Wes show. They argued all week who did the better flip into the ocean. Brad did one so, of course, Wes had to try. Here is the first attempt! It went pretty well, I thought.

Then, they decided to make a show of it!! Nevermind the little kids they almost ran over!!!

If you didn't notice, play this one again and watch Wes close at the beginning. See if you can guess where he got sand stuck on the first flip!!!!!!!

Beautiful Day at the Beach

The double red flags went down yesterday and we got to get in the water! There were a lot of jellyfish but everyone was just ready to play in the waves!

The first thing Megan did was take off walking down the beach. She never looked back. Luckily I was following so that when she did look back, I could capture that uh-oh look!

This is one of my favorite pictures of the 2 weeks so far. This is Megan's footprints!

Laci gets braver with each day. She gets closer and closer to going in on her own.

this is after a "rad" boogie boarding adventure! On this venture, Auntie got stung by a jellyfish!

Shopping Night

Last night, Mom, Sarah, Laci and I went to a cute little place called the Destin Commons. It is a neat shopping area where we ate and walked around. They had a playground that Laci got to play on and she did Build A Bear. You will see her many times with the flower in her hair. Here is the story behind that. She loves the High School Musical movies. In the second movie, Gabriella wears little flowers in her hair right on the side. She wanted to do that so bad so we went and found her some flowers, so she could have "Gabriella" hair.
