Who doesn't love a project!?

Projects tend to be never ending at the Bohannan house. Last month our project was a large french drain. This month started out as 6 railroad ties to level our trampoline and has ended up into a backyard overhaul. Here is a little update in pictures of our half finished project:

As you walk around the side of our house this is what you see now. There used to be 4 big trees, now it is dirt.

Brad, with a little help made this ledge on the side of the pond. Prior to this is was mush, grown-up weeds and snacks and trash. He also built the fishing ledge across the way.
A little blurry, but Laci used the mini John Deere to help carry sod down the hill!
Megan, well she would pop up all over the place. She would be on her swingset, on the trampoline, in the house, and here she ended up on top of Brad's truck.
Here is one half of the project (this side is completed). This is a picture looking from our deck. Now, we have so to the pond and a ledge to fish off of or just sit on and watch the geese.
The second half of the project is not completed yet for 2 reasons. 1) We need more sod. 2) You can't be a do it yourselfer without running into a few "problems." Well, after the hard rain last night, Brad discovered our problem.....Remember last month's project? Well, when they were driving the tractor trying to smooth out the dirt.....
they squished the french drain! Needless to say, Brad is spending the day trying to fix it! He was being so careful trying not to mess it up. It happens.

Hopefully by the end of the week everything will be completed! Our backyard will double in size and we'll have an electric fence for Charlie!

Nice Surprise

I put an old memory card in my camera to take some pictures and when I downloaded them, these popped up. They were from a while ago when we went to the zoo. I can't believe how little the girls look! I had to post!

In this picture Laci has on an outfit that Megan wears now.

And, some new pics! These are from Sunday morning before church. I still love to dress them alike and they let me. The funny thing is that Megan wanted her hair down like Laci's so she did not have to wear a bow! She thought she was big stuff!

And, of course Laci had to give me one pose for a picture of just her!!!

Being a Better Blogger

Brad's mom told me that I have not updated enough and definitely haven't put new pictures up. So, I am making an attempt to do better at updating my blog. It just gets so busy so quickly in the spring! Here is an update in pictures!

First of all, here is an 11 week ultrasound of our upcoming addition. The ultrasound pic was so clear but I had take a picture of it with my phone so it is a little blurry. They had to do another ultrasound (I had one at 7 wks also) because he couldn't find the heartbeat in the office. Talk about panic. I was the 8th person in line for an ultrasound. It was the longest 35 minutes in a while! But, everything turned out great and I got a great picture of Baby Bohannan! Due November 27th.

My little Meg is growing like a weed. She is the epitome of Miss Priss. She is doing Mother's Day Out and doing Gymnastics. She is my more lovey dovey child. She always randomly says, I love you. She gives lots of hugs and kisses and will randomly crawl up in your lap just to sit.

Charlie is still doing great! He is a great dog. He is so smart and I am not a very good dog trainer. So, I can only imagine what he could do if I knew what I was doing!

Our project this summer is the back of our house! We have done a little landscaping but the biggest project was started this week. We (and help from the golf course) cut down 4 trees behind our house. This is the hole 2 of the trees left. I told Brad lets not fix the yard, let's just dig it all up and build a pool! Surprisingly he didn't say no, he said maybe someday! We'll see!

Another picture of Megan before Mother's Day Out. One of her teachers wears clippies in her hair so we have had to drop the bows and put in clippies!

And, we've had some new additions around the golf course.
During the spring and summer, we have lots of turtles!
Look close and you can the baby geese...
And, here are the baby ducks. These are harder to see because they stayed in such a close pack.
And, finally, our good friend Rachel has been practicing her photography (and getting really good at it) and sent me this picture of Megan. I thought is was beautiful and really captured her personality! Thanks, Rachel!
I have no new pictures of Laci right now. Crazy, I know. She is usually the one in all the pictures. I will do a Laci update very soon!

A New Reality

Back in 2003 Brad and I decided we were ready to try and have our first child. One month later we were pregnant, one month later we announced it and never looked back. The same situation happened when we were ready to have our second child. It was such a time of excitement and planning. Mother's Days took on a whole new meaning for me when my children were born. It meant celebrating, not only my mother, but now, me and the privilege I had of being a mom.

This year, however, Mother's Day has taken on a whole new meaning and brought so many different emotions. I am so thankful for my mom and what she does for me and means to me. I am so grateful and realize how blessed to have been chosen to be a mom to Laci and Megan. I never want to take that for granted. I am also full of excitement (and morning sickness) as Brad and I are expecting our 3rd child. But, with all that excitement, the events of the last year have brought new emotions and a sensitivity for so many others. I hope that when God takes me through trials, I never miss what he is trying to teach me. And, one thing I believe God taught me through the loss of my niece and a miscarriage shortly after, was to be sensitive to those who are longing to be parents or who have lost a child. I have learned that so many people struggle with infertility and/or have miscarriages. I have experienced (and still experiencing through Sarah) this emotional roller coaster of trying to get pregnant.

My heart breaks for my sister. As grateful as I am to be a mom, I want this day to come and go for her sake, so she does not have to cry or hurt. I know there are many others who have lost a child and/or who are longing for a baby. Today, I lift you up.

I will post periodically about baby #3 and we look forward to each and every time we get to hear the heartbeat, but through it all I want to always be sensitive to those who long for a child of their own or who have lost a child. And, through all of the ups and downs of this pregnancy, I want to give God the glory.

Praise God for Mother's and what they mean to us all.
Happy Mother's Day

It's About Time For a Post...

It's been awhile since my last post, but it's not because we haven't been busy. There is lots going on around here, but I just haven't taken many pictures. We have enjoyed the beautiful weather and playing outside.
Brad and Laci played with this beach ball for a long time! Kicking it at each other and chasing it around the yard. Brad may have met his match with Laci!!
And, little Meg is tearing up the road in her Mustang. I've had to put some boundaries on her because I think she would drive to Target if I let her.
Laci had her Kindergarten play this week and it was so cute. She had a speaking part and did so well. I was so proud of her.
Here she is saying her part!
