I'd like to introduce you to...

charlie
If you have read my blog for over a year then you probably remember this time last year, when I had the brilliant idea of getting a Yorkie for the girl's Christmas present. And, it was about this time one year ago we were trying to get rid of our dear Harley. Luckily, she was able to go to a great home where she is loved dearly!!! But, I still loved dogs and the girls just go crazy over animals. So, we started talking again about the possibility of getting a dog. But, Brad had some rules. I had to research dogs and if anywhere it said these words, "stubborn," "difficult to train," "mind of their own," "small bladder" etc. there was no way Brad would even consider it! Another stipulation was that the dog had to be rather small. We do not have a fence and do not plan on getting one (due to the fact it has to be wrought iron). So, the dog would be primarily inside and I do not want a 50+ pound dog running around my house! Well, my research began! I stumbled on several dogs but one caught my eye. It is called a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The words that described this breed were, "eager to please," "easily trainable," "calm," just to name a few! It sounded perfect!!!! The one drawback...the price! They are expensive little pups and there are not many breeders in Arkansas. So, again I researched and found some that were not too terribly expensive and they were in Fort Worth!!! And, since we were going to Dallas anyway, we decided to check them out!!!! My advice, if you are going to go look at puppies be ready to buy!! We took one look at the four little puppies and thought they were awesome! Brad decided on the biggest of the 4 because he had what looked like a thumbprint on his head. We named him Charlie and brought him back as a surprise to everyone. The girls had no idea and could hardly contain themselves!! So, we are giving the dog idea another try! Here's Charlie.....
Let me just say, for those wondering, he is a dream dog!!!!! He sleeps in his crate and cries when he needs to potty. We take him outside and he potties and comes back in. He plays and sleeps! He is very calm and very loving. He lets the girls pick him up and carry him around. Laci is quite the little moma! He has fallen asleep in her lap several times! Brad is even very fond of the little guy! I was hesitant to introduce him on the blog because I didn't want to jinx anything and Charlie turn into some wild child! But, we have had him almost a week and he has already brought lots of joy!!! As I type he is sound asleep on my lap!!!

Oh yes, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are the best dogs. Very pricy, but worth the money. We don't have one but 2 of our friends do and we love to play with theirs. Your Charlie is precious.
