A New Reality

Back in 2003 Brad and I decided we were ready to try and have our first child. One month later we were pregnant, one month later we announced it and never looked back. The same situation happened when we were ready to have our second child. It was such a time of excitement and planning. Mother's Days took on a whole new meaning for me when my children were born. It meant celebrating, not only my mother, but now, me and the privilege I had of being a mom.

This year, however, Mother's Day has taken on a whole new meaning and brought so many different emotions. I am so thankful for my mom and what she does for me and means to me. I am so grateful and realize how blessed to have been chosen to be a mom to Laci and Megan. I never want to take that for granted. I am also full of excitement (and morning sickness) as Brad and I are expecting our 3rd child. But, with all that excitement, the events of the last year have brought new emotions and a sensitivity for so many others. I hope that when God takes me through trials, I never miss what he is trying to teach me. And, one thing I believe God taught me through the loss of my niece and a miscarriage shortly after, was to be sensitive to those who are longing to be parents or who have lost a child. I have learned that so many people struggle with infertility and/or have miscarriages. I have experienced (and still experiencing through Sarah) this emotional roller coaster of trying to get pregnant.

My heart breaks for my sister. As grateful as I am to be a mom, I want this day to come and go for her sake, so she does not have to cry or hurt. I know there are many others who have lost a child and/or who are longing for a baby. Today, I lift you up.

I will post periodically about baby #3 and we look forward to each and every time we get to hear the heartbeat, but through it all I want to always be sensitive to those who long for a child of their own or who have lost a child. And, through all of the ups and downs of this pregnancy, I want to give God the glory.

Praise God for Mother's and what they mean to us all.
Happy Mother's Day

It's About Time For a Post...

It's been awhile since my last post, but it's not because we haven't been busy. There is lots going on around here, but I just haven't taken many pictures. We have enjoyed the beautiful weather and playing outside.
Brad and Laci played with this beach ball for a long time! Kicking it at each other and chasing it around the yard. Brad may have met his match with Laci!!
And, little Meg is tearing up the road in her Mustang. I've had to put some boundaries on her because I think she would drive to Target if I let her.
Laci had her Kindergarten play this week and it was so cute. She had a speaking part and did so well. I was so proud of her.
Here she is saying her part!

Softball Has Started

Softball season has officially started and going great!! I have been coaching so I haven't gotten to take a lot of pictures. But, I got a couple the night of opening ceremonies. The team is doing so good this year. Everyone has improved a bit and starting to understand the game. We have learned there is a big difference in teaching the girls to win and teaching the girls the game. As hard as it is to not always win, we want them to learn the game. Laci is doing great! She has hit several home runs we keep trying to tell her she can run around the bases faster if she would quit smiling. But, she grins ear to ear all the way around.

Good Luck, Lightning!

Easter 2010

We had a relaxing, quiet Easter here at the Bohannan house. Saturday we went to Papaw and Mamaw Grant's Farm and had so much fun. There are pictures on my sister's blog. Sunday we went to church. It was a wonderful service. Then, Brad, the girls and myself went to IHOP for lunch/breakfast and headed home. The girls played outside and I cleaned house. It was a great day!

A few special pics!

Here are a few pics I took with my phone on our trip to see Wes.

Laci decided to climb the rock wall inside one of the stores in the mall! I took several pictures of her at the bottom because I wasn't sure how high she could make it! Next thing I knew...
she was ringing the bell at the top!!!!!!
One day we went to the Adventure Science Place and there was a cool tower you could climb so we all climbed it and we could look out over downtown Nashville!
This would be me....sliding down a spine!
Girls at the top of the tower!
They had a space exhibit and Laci has been studying that at school. So, we got her picture in front of Saturn!
One of my favorite things was watching Brad attempting to feed the sting rays. It was the nastiest, scariest, and funniest things I have ever seen. I have never seen Brad jump so high in my life. Those things came up the side of the pool and out of the water and splashed water everywhere. Laci laughed and Megan screamed! It was a new experience and probably our last!

A Weekend in Tennessee

We had a wonderful weekend in Clarksville and Nashville, Tennessee. My brother was playing a tournament so we went to watch him play. However, Brad, the girl and I went a day early to enjoy Nashville. We went to the mall, ate at the Rainforest Cafe, fed sting rays, Laci climbed a rock wall, went to the Adventure Science Museum and they got to swim at the hotel (their favorite activity). Here are a few pictures from the weekend. My sister took most of the good pics and they are on her blog but here are a few that I took!

Brad and Laci laid out under a tree at the baseball game. Wes had a double header on Saturday so it was a long day!

Wes went in at the end of the 2nd game and did AWESOME!!! It was quite exciting!

Brad and Laci watching from the right field wall!

They played music between innings and Megan put on a show.

Wes kept sneaking stuff to Laci behind the dugout! We kept sneaking him Snickers and food. I think by the time we left the ballpark on Saturday Laci had 7 baseballs!

The girls after a swim on Thursday night. They worked up an appetite!

We had so much fun and I have a few other pictures from my phone that I will post later.

Laci's Been Busy

Laci has been pretty busy, therefore so have I. She had her final gymnastics meet and also performed in her school's talent show. Here are some pics from both events.

Finishing off her forward roll on the beam.
Front support on the bars
Step Lock

Ready to go on the floor

coming down slowly from her headstand
not sure what this is called
I was not on the ball at this meet with pictures. I usually start ahead of time getting my settings right and believe it or not, this meet I was talking to much. So, they are blurry...sorry.
She got 2nd place in this event (beam, I think) and 3rd overall and there were 8 little girls in her division.

Next event was the Howard Perrin Talent Show. Her and 5 of her friends did a dance. They had to tryout and they made it and got to perform on the high school auditorium stage. Laci's kindergarten class also performed a song to open the show. Here are some pictures:

Her kindergarten class singing Toney Chestnut
And, here are the Kindergarten Rockstars! They were precious and I was so proud of them.

Waiting backstage...

Hopefully, we will have an update on Megan soon!
